After I am done with the probing steps and click done. The bit moves +x ,+y and z. It does not move to the bottom left where I set the zero for the job.
If I manually set the axis and click the play button the bit will move to the x0,y0 of the material as it should, this does not happen with the touch probe…
I’m don’t fully understand the problem you are experiencing but I’ll try to assist. When you probe you for X, Y, Z you are setting the zero point work offset for the project - you shouldn’t need to set the zero point, then probe or probe then set zero. Once you have completed the probing process you can use the button in the center of the arrows that looks like a bullseye to move to the X,Y zero point.
If you haven’t watched this video I would suggest watching it to get an idea of the steps involved with using the probe:
The probe is installed and when I use the probe to set the zeroing of the work material, at the end when you click done the bit should move to the x0,y0 position of the material and it is not it is moving +x, +y.
When I set up the job in Cut2 Desktop I set up with zero being the bottom left corner of the material.
I hope this help you help me
It’s interesting that the dimensions show in mm even though imperial is selected, mine is the same way.
The default values are 53.975mm for the X and Y and 15.4mm for the Z, try those numbers and see if it makes a difference. Don’t forget to hit save after changing it.
You might want to watch this video as well so you can measure your probe plate to get a more accurate zero, you’ll need calipers to measure it. Mine was off by less than a mm or so but it made a noticeable difference. Don’t measure with the depth rod like in the video though, that’s the hard way. Flip the calipers over and measure with using the top and the little shelf part, shown here and it’ll be easier to get an accurate measurement.
2.086 would make sense if it was inches - but it’s in mm.
There was something on the forum about issues with making changes to the settings while in inch mode.
I think it is a inch metric conversion issue.
I watched that video and that is how I made the changes to Imperial. I do like the method of measuring the depth from the back of the caliper…Same outcome
Yeah, I am not sure what the issue is. I reset to mm and still not working…I also formatted the SD card and reinstalled the firmware, but still not working.
I reached out to support and the issue was introduced after I re-installed the firmware, I never selected a configuration under Admin → General. Once that was set and a reboot it is working perfectly
