Dueling CNC machine! We love to see it!
Well it’s not glorious, and more in line with utility, but I’m just wrapping up creating a bottom mount platform for the controllers and what not on my QCW table.
I’m doing this in preparation for replacing the MDF slats with the AirWeights slats, which is my next ‘maintenance’ project. Funny thing about the AirWeight slats, you’re REALLY not supposed to put screws into the bottom of them to mount stuff, LOL. (no, I didn’t find this out the hard way, in a ‘a broken clock is still right twice a day’ moment, I figured that out in advance).
Another plus to this is the whole thing acts like a big ‘ole cable tray, so I was able to just snake everything across. Signals in the front, power and spindle cable to the rear. I don’t know that it really makes a difference, but whenever I’ve wired racks for computer systems I’ve tried to separate signal and power cables if possible, and old habits die hard.
That’s genius. We might try that here at the shop! I like that it hides the cables!
