What features would you like to see in 2024?

Hey Stephane,

a CNC manufacturer cannot provide this. In my country you need to learn at least three years (Zerspanungstechnik) to learn which feed and speed and stepover and cutting direction to use in a specific bit / material / machine combination to use, and usually this is taught in different courses or even professions for metals and for wood.

Besides what the bit manufacturer should provide for every specific bit (often serious bit manufacturers do), on the other hand, there are countless cutting parameters tables available on the web, e.g. here.

Of course it would be nice if Onefinity provided some empiric data about rigidity and deflection in a few specific test situations, but it seems they donā€™t want to do that. I think their strategy is to provide a sturdy and rigid machine and to let the userbase confirm that it is rigid and sturdy, and do measurements if they like.

I think a good test for rigidity is this one.

A couple different features. 4x8 machine, rotary axis, and built in atc.

@Aiph5u & OneFinity Family,

YES YES YESā€¦ This is exactly what I would love to see come to the OneFinity. A Milling Motor fit for purpose! Most people I fear, shirk this off as just another Routerā€¦ that is a misnomer.

Teamā€¦ This is NOT a standard Router, the duty cycle on these is designed to run for days on end (just like a Spindle/VFD) with the exception you do not have to wire them, deal with coolant lines, mess with Airplane connections etc. etc.

They simply plug in and run, PLUS you can get them with a ATC built right in if desired. They are available in both 110v and 220v. An additional benefit is that since the mount also glides up and down the Z-Axis as a unit a Dust Boot is much easier to incorporate and manage. it would always be at the height of your bit to wood clearance.

Letā€™s get some love around this! How about we get a few hundred likes on this, there is a ton more info that Aiph5u has provided in many other threads here. Even if we had to lose an in inch on the X-trave I would happily jump on this train (not sure that is even needed but if it were Iā€™m still IN).

+1 for the rotary please

I would like for yaā€™ll to offer a Onefinity branded & supported VFD & SPINDLE kit. I would love love love nothing more than to see this. Please make it happen. I donā€™t personally need one, but Iā€™d really love to see it happen for everyone else.

I would like to be able to purchase the just the Foreman rails (no steppers or Z-slider) to upgrade my Woodworker to the 48"X48" I did the Masso upgrade myself in April.

Would like to see a journeyman upgrade to a 4x4 working area :pray:t3:

Iā€™d like to see an option for a different controller thatā€™s better than the BB but not necessarily the masso touch, something in between with more features.

I would love to see a fix for the QCW frame that would eliminate the ā€œwiggleā€ when the machine is running!

4th axis would be really amazing

Although Iā€™ve ordered an Elite upgrade kit so it wonā€™t benefit me, a solution for the BB controllers to be able to recover from power hits and to be able to do an extended (ie overnight) pause of large cuts. Iā€™ve already been looking at solutions using raspberry piā€™s as usb input devices etc.

Masso pendant for me ā€¦ may seem trivial to some but I like the hand held control to jog the machine while not having to hang on to the main control board

Journeyman upgrade to 4x4

I would like to see a bit setter for the older controller, The I/O for the limit switches could be used for the input into the controller since it not be used for the Axis.

As for me Iā€™d like to see continued development of the BB controller. Granted, mine is working fine, I like the simple interface, and the joy stick . But, itā€™s 3 years old now and is the one thing I get anxious about should it quite working for some reason. It would be a hit financially for me if I had to replace it but I would. To do the whole Masso conversion wouldnā€™t be in the budget so Iā€™d have to stay with the BB.If that were the case Iā€™d like to think Iā€™d be getting an improved product , maybe some new features and more robust components. Since youā€™ve added the Pro line of machines maybe you could add a mid tier ā€œProā€ controllerā€¦?
