Why do I have this wobble in the right y axis rail?
The left one is affected too.
I was wondering why my carves look so mushy.
I’m having what looks like a similar problem. Is there a lot of play in the ball screw? Can you easily turn it with your fingers?
Update: I removed both y-axis steppers. Both had the red bushings installed, but the stepper on the left (side with too much play) spins almost freely, and the stepper on the right offers much more resistance when I turn the shaft. I don’t know what a stepper is supposed to feel like, but I do understand single-variable hypothesis testing. I have a feeling something broke inside the motor. I ordered a replacement to arrive tomorrow. I’ll update then.
I can see in the shape of the bad cuts …

Yes, it is the ball nut.
I just disassembled it and gave it a clean.
After assembly I still have the wobble.
Looks like a good 0.3mm on the right and 0.2 on the left. The X axis is tight.
I will order two new ball nuts and see if that helps.
Anyone else had to replace them?
