Woodworker 50mm Y-axis rails

Do you want Beefier 50mm Y-Rails? It is possible to have them, as the components already exist within Onefinity’s current products, but we need to enthusiastically make many requests for it to be produced! Tech support at Onefinity has recently confirmed to me that it is possible. Here’s how… existing X-50 rails can have the Z gantry block replaced with the X gantry block of the 50mm Foreman Y rail. The modified X-50 rail can now be used as a Y axis as it now has the proper mount for the X axis rail to bolt onto it. The modified rail will also bolt directly to the QCW frame. Other benefits… includes high torque stepper motor, more vertical clearance under the XZ gantry, beefier to support adding a stiffy, Z-20, 80mm spindles, ATC components, etc. Also, as no new components need to be designed or produced, we should expect this to be priced reasonably and be offered through IPP as Y axis exchange upgrade. Let’s get those requests submitted from our community!!

Hey Steve,

I think the 35 mm Y rails on Woodworker and Journeyman are fine because unlike the X-50 rail, you have two of them.

If you want a machine that has 800 mm width and 1200 mm depth (unlike the Journeyman which has 1200 mm width and 800 mm depth), I’m with you. I made a feature request for this already here
