X & Y dims different

I’m cutting these parts out of one piece clamped to the table. The red arrow dim is the x-axis and the blue arrow is the y-axis. The blue arrow part is meant to fit into the red arrow for a surface to surface fit to be glued together. But I’m getting cut dimensions of the following below that results in a 0.5mm gap between the parts.

I’m a bit confused on what to adjust. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nominal: 38.1
Red arrow: 38.35 (+0.25 from nominal)
Blue Arrow: 37.85 (-0.25 from nominal)

Fusion 360 CAD & CAM
- Stock to Leave is unchecked
- 2D Contour used to cut both profiles
Spetool 1/4" downcut bit (measures 1/4" or 6.35)

I am not familiar with Fusion 360 since I have Vectric. But should have most of the same functions for cutter setup. I would start with a practice piece and setup a few of the same shapes to practice on. You should be able to use Allowance Offset feature to adjust how much it cuts. Try adding an offset.
Not sure how you are setting up your cut but maybe your bit is being pulled into the material since you are showing it is cutting more than it should. You could try a climb direction cut.

Hope this helps.

I was thinking about making test coupons with different surface offsets to get the fit right. I’m Ok with adjusting surfaces with offsets. I’m trying to make 10 plant stands and just want to make I’m not making firewood.

It’s going to be a few days until I can do something with the machine, just trying to get a game plan together for when I can.
