X50 crashing after working perfect for more than a year

OK This thing has been rock solid prior to updating. I did the '“ghost” thing and it seemed to be working better again but I noticed that the screen was a little laggie again and luckily was just running quick projects so it didn’t really present an issue.

Today it locked up between tool bits. The cursor would still move around the screen but did not accept my “click”. Not on the dialog box or the three lines on the top to get into the menu.

I also noticed that it’s not able to shutdown properly. I get a bunch of code messages on a wonky onefinity screen. the last line of text says something about “end kernal Panic…”.

I’m sure the updates when they all figure them out are great but dang I just wish this thing worked like it used to.

Any help? Like I said I did the ghost and I am on version 1.2.1

Thanks

I know this post is old, but have you ever gotten any help with this. Mine just did the same thing. I’ve had my X-50 Journeyman for just under 4 years with only routine maintenance.

I have never experienced a software issue, but all of a sudden today with 7 seconds left on a small carve the screen froze; however, the carve finished and the machine returned to home. After several minutes I was able to select the hamburger menu and restart, but now it will no longer boot.

When the machine is powered on I receive what appears to be hundreds of lines of code scrolling by very fast and the final line is “3.112948] —[ end Kernal panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2).” The screen remains frozen and will not allow me to scroll or shutdown, without killing power.

I am unsure of my firmware version and at this point do not know how I would go about updating. I know I am well outside of warranty, or expectaion of support, but would like to at least figure out a solution. @OnefinityCNC, could you point me in the right direction for assistance?

Thank you!
