Y axis making weird noise on every rotation - clicking / knocking sound

Hi everyone,

My y-axis keeps making an odd ‘clicking’ or ‘knocking’ sound on every rotation of the helical screw rod. it only happens when the axis moves forward towards the front of the machine.

For example, if I use the controller to move the y-axis slowly, the clicking frequency slows down. If i move the y-axis faster, the clicking speeds up.

I can’t seem to find any loose parts or dust in the way. I just finished surfacing my spoil board and there was a lot of MDF dust (took off 1/8" without realizing how much dust there would be!).

Thanks for any help. Look forward to finding out what it is and stopping the clicking.

Sam

Mine just started today (only had it since November). Did you ever get a solution?

Did anyone ever figure this out? It’d be nice to know a solution to this issue.

@OnefinityCNC probably knows whats going on here.

I had a similar clicking noise. I reached out to OneFinity and this was there reply.

“It is the white wiper. It is NOT causing any hidden damage. You’ll need to adjust the wiper until you do not hear the clicking. Do so by adjusting the set screw in the wiper.”
