Y rail wires at the front?

Y rail wires connect at the front then pass thru the tubes to the motors at the rear. Wires at the front are annoying. I would rather run the wires from the black box under the table directly back to the motors. Is there any specific reason for the wires to connect at the front?

You will more than likely have to mount your controller on the right-hand side of the bench to accommodate the reversal of the Y-axes.

I’ve never looked but there must be a connection of some sort near the motors (most likely inside the tube). Either way if you wanted to remove the wires from the tubes and not have the connectors on the front there’s no reason why you couldn’t. Personally I don’t want the motors on the front and I don’t like the connectors in the front either. But since I’m waiting on the Journeyman X-50 rail I’m waiting until I can set the machine up in it’s final position before making changes like you’re talking about.

John - you can pull the wires through and run them however you want.
