I have a woodworker 32x 32. I use Carveco Maker Plus for designing. The z height is to low to change the bit on a tool change. How to raise the height on a tool change.
Is this when invoking the tool change via a M6 command in your gcode?
Yes it does M05 M06 t3
I feel the problem lies in not being able to move at least the z axis during a tool change command
There are a few threads on the forums about this topic, usually they revolve around either separating each tool into it’s own g-code file or altering the tool-change commands to raise the Z up.
Thanks, i think i figured it out. In carveco maker go into the tool path go to safe z and home. Change the safe height to your desired height then change the z home to desired height for tool change.
Hey Steve,
this is a frequently reported issue. The answer is here and here.
You don’t have to modify your g-code program or CAM software settings. The Onefinity controller is able to do the right things on tool change, unfortunately the Onefinity CNC is delivered with a “tool-change” setting that is unusable. The remedy is linked above.
