Z homing in wrong direction

I just got a woodworker pro with redline spindle. I have it assembled and powering up fine.

I noticed that after homing, my allowed Z travel is -17 to 0 mm. In the axis settings soft limit is something like -162mm.

When I home, x and y go in the expected directions ( left and forward) but Z axis homes downward. I can change axis direction so it homes upward but the +Y is down which doesn’t seem right.

All the examples and videos I see have Z axis homing upwards. What am I doing wrong here?

If your saying when you press z+ on the controller screen and the spindle goes down, you can check the box in settings to reverse z axes.

In any case you could first reset the machine settings under “Admin”.

Then if it still it moves into wrong direction, check z cabling / connector.

Figured it out. I had lowered stall torque because it was grinding but I think I lowered it too much. So when I had z going up like it should, it stalled right away. With torque value raised and axis direction corrected it homes now.
