Brand new to this, I haven’t even got my machine running yet but trying to get a model ready for when it is. I’m trying to import a file created on the terrain2stl site. However, when I import it, its just a flat rectangle. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Right, so I’m guessing it is the model from the terrain2stl site. I’ve downloaded the vetric pro trial, and it still does it, not sure what I am doing wrong as I’m following a youtube guide for both softwares. You literally just choose the area you want, select the relevant options and create/download. I’ve tried it on an area in the States and it worked so fired off an email to the site owner.
