Convert a stl to a svg file

help! I have carbide create pro and it will not load a stl file. I have tried to convert software and it will not convert the stl file.
Could some one help me create an .nc file with a 1/4" uncut bit and a 1/16" bit?
I pay you for your time.

Stl is typically a 3d model. Svg is commonly used for vectors.

If you need a free option for milling STL files, fusion 360 will do it for you. I’m not familiar with the carbide family but it sounds like you want a 2d cut instead?

The pro version can do 3d milling, but I don’t know if it can load STL files (it should be able to). As @Echd said, svg is a vector format and not appropriate for 3d files.

What exactly are you trying to do?

CarbideCreate Pro v7 will load .stl files. Older versions won’t, so check your version.

Also, for problematic .stl files, I find it’s a good idea to load them into an 3D editor to look for problems. All Windows machines come with the program 3D Builder included (or use opensource Blender or Fusion360 or…).

Thanks Tom,

the SVG is a mistake for a choice. I realized it after I posted it.
