“Fat fingers”. I still have fat fingers but not as bad on the iPad.
Hi Jafet,
I got the same setup, but am having issues with the touchscreen functionality. Which USB ports did you use to go where? I have the HDMI>contoller, USB-C below>power adapter, and bottom USB-C>controller. Did I miss something?
I have the power supply in the bottom USB-C and the controller on the top.
i agree 100%. set up my machine turned it on and looked at all the info on the small screen and said heck no. went and got a 24 inch monitor and hooked it up with a mouse and much better.
Will any mouse and keyboard wireless work? Along with a larger screen connected hdmi and the onefinity “game” controller
It works for me. A monitor with a HDMI port connected to the controller and a wireless mouse/keyboard dongle inserted in the controller does it. You don’t even need a keyboard. For the few times you need to enter text you can use the mouse pointer to select from the keyboard shown on the screen.
So what is the bottom line on a Touch Screen Computer Monitor… Onefinity says any modern usb touch screen monitor should work and many on here say the ones they have don’t… But they also say that using a mouse with dongle will work that way.
What Touch Screen Monitor work by touching. There must be some users out there that are running a touch screen with just the touch function, if so what is the model and make of the monitor and how have you connected it… Thanks
Dan, if you read back thru this post you will see several links to touch screen monitors that people are using if you must have a touch screen. I opted for a cheap 30" monitor I bought off of Marketplace and added a keyboard and mouse for a lot less than a new touch screen monitor.
Jafet ,
Are you still overjoyed about your choice of monitor and mount. My eyes are not that good anymore and I am worried about the 7” monitor. Not complaining just need to see what I’m doing.
Dan, the Asus VT168H 15.6” touch screen works and it’s plug and play. I believe other users have had the same experience with larger Asus touch screens but I can’t validate that since I used the VT168H.
Ultimately, I wanted an even larger screen and since I’m not a fan of touch screens, I opted for a keyboard/mouse combo.
Currently, I’m using a 24" Viewsonic monitor with HDMI input and a Logitech K400 keyboard with mouse pad. The logitech is wireless and it also was plug and play.
Hope this helps.
Mike
Love how you gave a few options. For me I need the bigger screen for my old eyes. My son loves the 7in screen and thinks a bigger one is a waist of money. LOL
My eyes are great (thanks to surgery) but my fat fingers don’t do me much help on that tiny display…lol
I also have a PC out in the garage that I moved next to my 1F enclosure. I’ve had the PC out there for a few years…it’s nice when i need to look something up or get help/watch a video I have the PC there to use…I installed a KVM for the 1F and PC…I can flip back and forth and don’t need the extra hardware.
My OneFinity won’t be here for two months so I want to be ready. Here is my set up right now. I have the Evolution 4 by BobsCNC which I won’t bash on here, it’s just time to upgrade. I run with a laptop that about 7 years old along with CANDLE AND UGS that I use to send the G-Code and they work great. Candle especially since you can adjust the feed speed on the fly and also the pause. It’s nice to create a project on the laptop and send it to Candle right away. So, yes the 7" is to small and I want to create a project near the OneFinity. Buying another TOUCH screen monitior would be great to visualize the settings and send on the 1F but could take up to much space if I wanted to use the laptop there also. So I have a question: If I buy another large screen laptop with touch screen that also has HDMI, WiFi and Ethernet connections would I be able to have just about everything. I’m due for a new laptop anyway.
I also understand I’ll lose the ability to use CANDLE AND UGS. Any thoughts. Thanks Dan
Hey Kyle,
I just got my Asus today, which arm did you end up getting? I was looking to build one but yours looks pretty cool. I have a dual pivot on my 27" monitor right above the CNC that has my Intel NUC hooked to it for PC use.
Does yours have a elbow, did you get it on Amazon?
-Alex
Alex,
This is the one I got from Amazon. It was the one shown as “frequently bought together”. The only thing I don’t like so far is that the Asus is SO light that it wont stay in a intermidiate position, however it will stay all the way up and down with the adjustment lightened all the way.
I am still very happy with the upgrade, much better than the stock screen in many ways.
Can you run both monitors at the same time? The 7" and 27"
I do not believe so unless you bought an HDMI splitter or something. Not sure I see any value in running both though as they duplicate each others capability.
-Alex
Yes very true, was thinking of getting the splitter if it would work. Wife upstairs wants to see how it was coming along. She has a hard time getting in the cellar.
