I’m planning to do the double wasteboard system from RedDogWoodcraft (RedDogWoodCraft Spoilboard System - YouTube). But I need the machine mounted to cut that out.
Yes, that’s where my spillage was at. One of the places. So I suspect that oil might swell the MDF, but I’m no expert.
Nevertheless, I am going to do away with that by adding a layer of Plas-Tex on top of my Plywood table top.

I can confirm these machines are heavy and need proper support. Having had my 1F for over half a year now I recently experienced this exact problem.
I originally started with my machine mounted to a piece of 3/4" mdf. A few weeks ago I noticed an area that would come out lower on surfacing planes of some of my materials. After quickly measuring to make sure the machine was not off I determined that the table had bowed (potato chipped) in one area and is now warped. I have since put another 3/4 inch hard plywood on top and this leveled it back out. I think if I had not built my table already I would have went the metal frame route.
IMO a Torsion box is the best way to go if you’re looking for a stable platform. Then lay a 3/4" sheet of MDF on top of that for the wasteboard and your all set. I’ve had my OF from the beginning and my table is even a flip style. Still , fast forward 1+ years and its a flat and solid as the day I built it.
Nice thing is they are also relatively light (made from 3/4" ARCH Plywood from Home Depot). Shimming up the corners of the OF will remove the dragging but does not fix any bow in the surface of the table. If the corners or mid section is sagging, you’re still going to clamp your workpiece to the middle and that sag will reflect in your cuts.
Just my $.02.

Interesting, indeed… However RedDogWoodCraft hasn’t answered several ‘pressing’ questions to the YouTube videos of which I am asking myself as well. Like, what type of files are provided, Fusion, Aspire, VCarve, etc. Or how are the T-Slats secured to the table. Hmmm, why doesn’t he answer these questions, on the YouTube channel or the Etsy store -
Nevertheless, interesting and precise concepts.

I purchased the RedDogWoodcraft template just a few days ago and it came with SVG, Vetric, and DXF files for each item. It also has a PDF file with a parts list (including Amazon links), instructions, and considerataions. He’s been fairly responsive to me over Etsy chat. I plan to start making his wasteboard this weekend.
I have purchased that template as well but haven’t made it yet. I would love to see how you setup and cut this.
Okay, so what kind of files did you download? Were they Vectric files? Any instructions come with that?

Oh, I see… Matt just answered that -
Thanks Matt!

Jenn,
I have purchased from RedDog because of his responsiveness. I have only communicated via etsy Chat, but he has always responded in a day or less. I can confirm what Matt said related to files.
That is fine, I will refrain from providing any responses on any of your future inquiries, as you see no value in them.
