Cutting Planks on Endgrain

I saw this really interesting post where someone cuts fonts or letters into end grain:
See link Below:

Does anyone have such a setup with their onefinity? Because if you want to mill the end of of a long board or plank, you will probably have to remove the wasteboard and build a special clamp to hold the end of the board tight enough for cutting.

I find it quite interesting, as I always thought cutting end grain would result in a lot of splitting and cracking. But I am curious to give it a go.

Thanks Ken5

My current set up is with QCW Frame and Stand so will look around if I see anyone has tried vertical holding with the Stand

Cheers
