Easy to remove?

Sorry if this question is “off topic”, but I have a WW Pro and I am looking at the Elite, but I was wondering if the Masso controller is easy to remove from the machine, and then replace when I want to use it.

My setup includes the QCW and rolling cart, and I can store the machine against the wall when not in use, and I typically remove the touch screen when I do this. I see that a lot of the control wires plug directly into the Masso, so it would seem that this makes it more difficult to remove for storage.

Thanks in advance,
JohnL

Hey John,

you can plug out the connectors but the Molex or Amphenol connectors used on both X-50/Pro/Original as well on the Elite Series are not made to be used on the outside of a device and are not made to be plugged in and out frequently. They are only tin-plated and the tinning is rather thin. Once the tin is worn off, the copper is exposed to air and corrodes even more quickly. More professional machines have Phoenix gold-plated industry standard circular connectors.

So I would avoid touching the connectors as the errors that bad contacts could make appear one day could be difficult to diagnose and can easily ruin your workpieces.

Here are my thoughts of replacing all connectors.

Note that many people buy the machine and plan to store it in an upward position when not in use but in fact always let it be positioned ready to use (48 % do).

Should you nonetheless want to plug out all connectors everytime you store the machine, and you would encounter contact problems, a little amount of KONTAKT 60 and then KONTAKT 61 can help.

I have a fliptop table and when in the stored position i remove the masso everytime.
Its not difficult but just be cautious with the plug ends when removing.

Granted i dont store it very often as its usually being used
