Don’t think that would work, as the dovetail would still be wider at the top then it should, be, thinking about this you’re lopping off the top of a pyramid everything below is wider. I think the only thing you can do is go a bit deeper to begin with
I was working on my CNC with a version of this wasteboard that I created and I realised in has one small problem, you can’t clamp at the edge if need be, so I’ve had a thought of trying to create a version of it where some of the pockets for insertion are inset, and have channels going to the outside looking like this:
This way you could also insert clamps to the outside, I’m working out now how to get a toolpath machined that will do the correct thing here, it seems to require a poly line path maybe.
