What pigments are you using for your epoxy inlays?
I have used a few, but I have settled into the following these days:
Mixol Tints for solid colors
Black Diamond and/or Eye Candy for mica powders
I always use Mas LV (low viscosity) with the medium hardener for my epoxy.
What do you seal the carve with before doing the epoxy pour?
I will usually carve a pocket .125" deep, fill with clear table top epoxy, and also brush some onto the wood surfaces surrounding the pocket, and let that set up for 24 hours. Then all my colored pours are cut to .1" deep. I have great results with this method. Also… I do all my pours while the work piece is mounted to the spoil board, but make sure your OF is level!
