Fusion Tool Library Helpc

I need a little guidance, I just received my OF and I am looking to set up my Tool Library. I bought the starter set of router bits from IDC Woodcraft you can see here Complete CNC Router Bit Starter Set - 11-Piece Solid Carbide Kit for C – IDC Woodcraft . When I go into Fusion to set up a local library it has additional fields outside of what is supplied in the bit documentation.

The guidance I am seeking is “what is required?” or “what really matters” to get started? Example…“Shoulder length” that isn’t supplied in the documentation but asked for by Fusion.

Being new, I just want to make sure I set up this correctly to get started.

This will hopefully help, though it doesn’t directly answer your question, IDC provides tool databases for all of their tools here: Database Downloads – IDC Woodcraft

If nothing else, once you load that up, you probably? won’t have much work to do, on the other hand you’ll be able to see what information they include and that should get you pointed in the right direction in the future if you are dealing with a manufacturer who doesn’t provide tool databases.

Cheers.

I find measuring the tool with calipers to fill in any missing dimensions is adequate.

While calipers aren’t perfect for some of the measurements, they provide close-enough measurements that are far better than a random value.

Having the Fusion tool resemble the actual tool as good as you can get, really helps find programming errors and collusions before you run it.

Thanks a bunch @L.M appreciate the suggestion!

As well, thanks @MikeXYZ for your insight as well!
