Head Scratching Issue - Y Rails End Up Out of Square

I have a new OF WWPro (about 5 hours of cutting time on it). It’s my second OF machine in 5 years so I pretty much know the basics.

With the machine off, I ensure the left and right Y axis rails are truly all the way forward with collars tight against stops. Machine homes appropriately. After running a few small jobs that in no way stress the machine if I tell the machine to home again I find that the left-side Y is as much as a quarter inch out of sync with the right side - the right side hits the hard stop for stall homing before the left side does.

Feet of the machine are coplanar per fishing line method. Frame is square per bar gauge of diagonals. Stepper motors properly attached to ball screws with no slop. Steps, voltages, etc. are identical for both Y steppers.

I’m at a loss what else to check - ideas?

Try swapping the two Y axis motors, see if the problem is “reversed”. Might help diagnose.

GREAT idea! I had entertained the thought that perhaps one motor was less than perfect in terms of step size or something, but was drawing a blank on how to check.
