JTech 44w laser install

Hello,

First time installing a laser, I am able to fire the laser manually but cant turn it on using M3 S10 code. Also using Vetric Aspire laser module for the design. Any help would be appreciated.

Which machine are you using?

If you’re using the Masso controller, you’ll need to install an updated postprocessor in Aspire to enable the laser. Not sure about the original series machines, as ive not used a laser on one of those in a couple years.

are you trying to turn it on to position it?

try slightly higher S values…mine doesn’t come on until I’m at S20 or so.

Hi cyberlynx1
Yes, everything is connected. I can switch the laser on manually and it burns the wood. But cant use the M3 S10 or M3 S50 to make it come on.

Hi MstrODstr,

I can switch the laser on manually and it burns the wood. But cant use the M3 S10 or M3 S50 to make it come on so I can home it.

Also tried just running a file and the file ran but the laser never came on.

Did you press the reset button on the jtech controller? It should arm the laser and turn on the fan and leds on the boards

Hi Dan,

Im using a old woodworker with 80mm spindle.
like i said I can switch the laser on manually and it burns the wood. But cant use the M3 S10 or M3 S50 to make it come on.

Hi Hermsen.BJ,
Yes several times, even turned up the potentiometer thought maybe it was to low.

In the tool setting did you set it to laser instead of router

Hi msharp,
I saved the file using the laser post-processor, is there another setting somewhere?
