60mm rails offer 25% more ridigity than 50mm with a Stiffy

The new Gen 2 machines all fit on the existing QCW frames. Total weight is only about 15 lbs more

Nicely done. Thanks for keeping it affordable!!! Its looks awesome!

If I upgrade can I keep my existing Huanyang VFD controller I have working over rs485 with my Buildbotics and use with the new Redline controller or do I need to also plan on upgrading to Redline’s Spindle package?

The Redline controller uses RS-485 communication, so it may work, but we can’t say for certain.

I noticed the Z clearance is greater than the Gen 1
Is the Z travel longer too?

The Z travel is the same. The main differences in the Z are the thicker back plates for more rigidity, no more mounting slots for dust boot to increase X travel, and a 2Nm braking motor in place of the 1.2Nm

So if/when the upgrade path comes out for the Gen2, would it be worth just waiting for that to get the Redline controller and 2nm motors or do you think that’ll still be separate from the Gen2 upgrade path?

If your going to do the rails and controller, that’s the whole machine, and it’s most likly more financial sound to sell what you have an order on tuesday what you want

At first I thought you’d mechanically joined the tubes. I notice the linear bearings are now split to allow it. But I gather it is a cover only and not structural.

Would love to hear if there are pros/cons over the bearings that fully wrap the tube apart from the obvious advantage of allowing for an elegant dust cover.

Mechanically, the bearings perform the same, they just have the ball bearings inside space differently to allow for the ball screw cover to pass through. These bearings are torqued to spec to ensure there is no slop in the bearings as well!

The Gen 2 Elite Series does include the tool setter, dust boot and touch probe for a limited time!

I recently bought a redline batch 2 journeyman. Will there be an upgrade to path?

We’re working on it for late 2026! Those who purchased the batch 2 redline machine will get a good discount on it!

Looking forward to my discount! :stuck_out_tongue: Also, much more so, looking forward to my RLEV1 arriving, after receiving my shipping notice today. OF contacted me a week or so ago and said ‘Hey… look we have stuff changing… what do you want to do?’ Of course, I’d have loved for them to elucidate WHY I may have buyers remorse on my RLEV1…which they couldn’t without letting the cat out of the bag… but at the end of the day I’m still happy. My RLEV1 is financially a better deal than the RLEV2… an honestly there are so many people who have created beautiful pieces even at production scale with the Elite V1… sure, it’d be great to have the latest and greatest and I’ll definitely look at upgrade options in the future, but am I disappointed to be getting a V1 Elite versus a V2, nope, still excited for my RLEV1

What about batch 1 will that apply to us as well

late 2026? do you mean later 2025?

Late 2026 . It will not happen this year.

Has anyone tried the covers that are on Esty from Atomic?

can you put these braces on your rolling folding stand I realize that it defeats the purpose of the stand, but I have never actually folded it up and moved it I thought at the time that it was a good thing to have but have never used the feature

You cannot put the braces on the Rolling Folding Stand.
