Lost VCarve Pro functionality

In the process of figuring out why I am unable to save a job to a USB flash drive and transfer it to my control box I find myself unable to open my VCarve Pro program. It is still an installed app but it wont open. Is there any way I can retrieve my program without losing any of the data I have alreadyadded to it? Thanks, Mark

Your data should be separate files. Just try re-installing the VCarve Pro, all files you created should be left alone. You should also have backups, never have only one copy of things that took you work to make.

Thanks, Atroz, I’ll try that.

It feels like data corruption, unless you knowingly deleted files. I would be worried if the hard drive is getting sick. Recommend checking the disk (Microsoft chkdsk program is an option, you may want to google )

Hi MaymunBana,

Thanks for the reply. The PC is only a few months old so I sure hope it isn’t sick already. I may have unknowingly deleted something I shouldn’t have. I’m trying to reinstall the VCarve program in hopes of not losing any data.
I appreciate your advice and will keep your suggestion in mind as a possible fix.

I save everything to Dropbox. I do my design work inside at my office desk and then SSH into the BB controller and upload. or if I need to change somelthing, I can access the dropbox saved file from the garage with a small chromebox.

Vectric should keep all of your settings and customized configurations in the Windows “Program Data” folder which I manually backup to my network storage server (NAS) every day.

This folder is hidden by default, you can get to it by with either of the following steps:

  1. Clicking Windows Start Menu and type in the following “variable” (including percent signs) followed by pressing the Enter key: %ProgramData%

  2. Copy/Paste the following path into a Windows Explorer window navigation bar: C:\ProgramData

Therefore, what “should” happen is that this data folder will remain after uninstalling the application, and after re-installing the application “should” use the contents of this folder.

If this doesn’t work, then I can try to describe the more thorough uninstall/reinstall steps but this will get more complicated and not really recommended and I suggest reaching out to Vectric for support.

Edit, under Program Data folder, look for “Vectric” folder followed by your specific software (e.g. VCarve, Aspire, etc.).
