This one finally adds the feed override control, up to 200%. I’m also interested in some of the things LUA scripting might be able to do with my laser setup. Easy cursor scroll is a little quality of life add on, not worth an update by itself but a nice perk. Extended work offsets (G54.1) are the main thing I want and have been there since 5.11. So is anyone else going for latest update? Or do you prefer to leave well enough alone? I tend to leave firmware alone if it is stable unless a must-have comes along which for me is the work offsets.

We understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback. Just to clarify — our hardware remains the same, but we’ve moved to a tiered software model to better match different user needs. Our goal was to provide more flexibility while continuing to support all existing MASSO users. We truly value your support and are always open to feedback on how we can improve.

Feedback, DO not put in features that we must buy. Build a different branch for that. I do not want a lot of stuff that I trip over that will do nothing until I pay the ransom. Very Bad look.

I went for it this morning as I was on v5.10. It seemed like all was well but I noticed some of my settings were changed like my spindle startup time again so I tried to load from my saved file settings. That’s when I got the corrupted file and had to go back and use the defaults provided then reenter my settings.

I recall getting the email to update the Masso firmware yet can not track it down. Can someone advise where to get the updated version to download with instructions to install it? Thank you

[image] How to upgrade your firmware on your Onefinity Elite Gen 2 Masso g3 touch controller Official 1F Elite (Gen 1) (MASSO) FAQs Loading software onto MASSO Touch Regular updates are released to add more features to the units. The software upgrade process can be easily performed on-site by following the instructions below: Each software version is complete and and does not require previous software versions to be installed. This process is the same whether you are installing a new MASSO or updating software. Always make a backup of your settings and save a copy of the printable file to check your settings are correct …

you can get the firmware from the my workshop page. https://myworkshop.masso.com.au/ you have to create an account if you havent already, it will know you because 1F registers you with them if you get an elite. there’s instructions on the page but her ’s my version: Do all the updates from your current version up to the newest, in order. repeating the backups at each stage. back up your current settings to your usb, and copy that to its own folder on a computer put the next newest firmware on the usb and update the controller run a quick job to make sure everything works now back up and save it to a computer again repeat until you are on the newest release back up again ennnnnjoyyyyyyy I did it to get the extra 100 work offsets from the G54.1 function. If you don’t have a similar motivation, leave well enough be. That is literally the only thing I gained, but worth it to me.

it’s got something to do with jumping versions. I can’t find the link, but masso explained that between some versions there were changes that made previous settings files incompatible with later revisions. once I started back at 5.1 and did it step wise all was good

I don’t see this as a big deal, I get that we’ve become used to free updates and new features. If we want companies to survive without selling our data (like most companies do) we are going to need to accept that they need to make money to pay for the development in one way or another. The alternative is to accept that the equipment you purchase will stay exactly the same, this has been the way that the majority of CNC controllers were in the past. Currently the Masso OF Elite machine is the second highest tier in their system (Advanced), Masso has been adding features to the machine via free updates and now has some Pro exclusive features like LUA scripts. They haven’t put any of the existing features behind a pay wall. @MASSO It’s probably worth adding some upgrade FAQs to your website, right now it’s kinda confusing as to what you need to do to upgrade, do you buy the $750 listed on the website or the $9/month listed in myworkshop or both? And would be good to have some sort of page explaining what your commitment is to existing hardware users.

Thank you for the feedback. We really appreciate it. To clarify the difference: MASSO Portfolio is a one-time licence that permanently unlocks the advanced features on the controller hardware. MyWorkshop is a separate nine-dollar-per-month cloud subscription that provides online tools such as file syncing, backups, project libraries and workflow features. You do not need both. MASSO Portfolio changes what the controller itself can do. MyWorkshop adds cloud functionality and workflow tools to the user account. We agree that the website needs clearer upgrade FAQs and a more detailed explanation of how upgrades apply to existing hardware. We are working on improving this so users know exactly what they need and what each option includes.

I am new to all this and trying to understand this upgrade. Can you explain what the G54 offsets are exactly? TIA
