I really appreciate OneFinity sharing the Suckit Dust Boot Pro insert files with us! Suck It Router Sheilds SVG's
That said, I found myself shattering the inserts when using short bits on the bit setter - the protruding Makita router lock crushes the insert. When it came time to cut some more I made a modification that creates a clearance specifically for the Makita and wanted to share it out there in case others find this useful.
This SVG includes modifications of both the 1" and 2" inserts.
Bern, thanks for pointing that out. Now that I have earned the right to add attachments , I have added a download link to the original post above. Glad you can make use of them!
I do appreciate the .SVG file, it prompted me to make some new shields. I made a set of these as per the .SVG but, I was unable to use them as the spindle lock is to the right as you are looking at the router. So I went into VCarve and made them so they would fit my Suck it and Makita router. Attached are the mods I made. I guess I could have rotated the router 180 degrees, it just seemed easier to modify the file. Just for frame of reference, when you are facing my machine, the router speed control is to the right. I used a 8 X 10 piece of Lexan from the big box and used a Freud 73762 1/8 O-Flute up cut spiral bit. suck it dust boot shields.crv (320 KB)
