New touch screen not working

My original touch screen that came with my wood worker CNC began flickering on and off with blue, black, blue, black, etc. I connected and extra monitor I had laying around to check if it was the monitor or the controller. The screen came up fine, so my conclusion was that the monitor must be bad. I purchased a 15.6 inch touchscreen to replace it (because bigger is better right?). Long story short…the monitor has the exact same inputs as the original monitor (two usb c, and one hdmi). Here’s what I tried so far:

First: connected like the original monitor. both USB C’s from the controller to the monitor. HDMI from the controller to the monitor. Result: distorted picture and unusable.

Next: swapped USB C ports on the monitor. Rebooted, same issue.

Then: powered the monitor from the wall adapter instead of the controller. Tried both USB C ports on the monitor. Screen came up just fine. No touch capabilities.

After that: tested the monitor by connecting it to my laptop. Everything works fine. So, not the monitor.

Now what? Does the controller on the CNC only work with a specific type of monitor? If so, what should I be looking for? My CNC is dead in the water until I get this resolved.

Sounds like you didn’t plug into the required wall power.

Update: I had my machine put away for about three months due some remodeling. It seems I forgot that this original monitor has to be plugged in to the wall for power. It cannot get enough power from the controller. After plugging the original monitor into a wall outlet. Everything is good. However, if I want to upgrade to a larger screen in the future, are there any particular touchscreen monitors that are recommended and have been confirmed to work with the Wood Worker CNC?

Thank you! I totally forgot that it can’t be powered from the controller.
