I have bought and received the new J-teck 24W laser.
Have followed exactly what they show on youtube, exactly the same settings but it doesn’t cut through.
I have tried to slow down but the only thing I have done is to burn material. My settings are as follows.
Kerf 0.3
Move speed 10 inches
Maximum burn 100%
I already had the J-tech 7 W and I’m happy with it, I had high hopes for the new one.
Has anyone out there managed to cut through?
4 mm plywood cannot be cut through at all, after a while it starts to burn.
Yes, I have air assist
MDF, I’ve been up for an hour now and I still haven’t cut through.
This is a huge disappointment
I don’t have my 24W yet, but other have had the same issue they posted on the forum. I believe it has something to do with the settings as mentioned in this post:

I have aspire and onefinifycnc, you don’t mean that I need to buy a new program as well?
I was really looking forward to this laser and it’s far away from what I saw on YouTube.
It’s just a simple engraving laser not a cutting laser.
I have try now several settings and speeds the only thing I manage is to burn the material and light it on fire.
On YouTube a saw a clip, quarter inch plywood in one pass max power, that’s not true at all.
I have tried 4 mm plywood 50 pass, max power 100 mm/min for one hour and I did not cut through.
I’m so disappointed you can’t even imagine.

@Christian1 @xrobynwithay , DId you turn the R1 all the way up to get the power to 100%? I cannot figure out how to cut 1/4" ply in one pass. Also, how quickly did you make the cut? 10ipm? 20? 30?
EDIT: 1) I cranked up the power on R1 all the way 2) I changed out the plywood I was using with a scrap piece of poplar and with a setting of 100% power at 30ipm and 2 passes there was a perfect cut.

I have tried everything but cutting plywood seems impossible.
For oak I have 95% power, 125 mm/min, one pass and cut on.
Thanks @Christian1. I did have success after this post when I went with another type of material. The plywood did seem impossible, but since I was only testing with the plywood I couldn’t care less I didn’t have better success.
I was hoping that you have managed to cut through plywood, i bought the laser just because I thought I could cut plywood, don’t understand how they do it on the youtube video. If you find a way, please let me know

with “plywood”, you don’t say which kind of wood you mean. Or is there a plywood tree (arbor stratificata) that I don’t know?
It may also depend on whether it is for indoor or outdoor use, because you also have to cut through the glue layers and the glues may contain resins or not (resorcinol, phenol or epoxy).
I was encountering similar issues and then discovered that LightBurn by default runs your laser at about 25% power! To rectify this, click the Device Settings button in the toolbar (it looks like a wrench and a screwdriver)
And change the “S-value max” from 255 to 1000:
I improved my results further by also enabling “Enable Z axis” in the Device Settings and then setting an appropriate “Z step per pass” alongside the “Number of Passes” so that the laser moves down slightly with each pass, keeping the focus point on the spot where it’s actually cutting
