Onefinity “ customizable” machine

I think this is a great idea, so far it just looks like the same 2 sizes that have been offered. I hope a 24x24 is in our near future. The larger screen is a welcome option. Still waiting for a 2.2kw spindle option.

This is a good step in the right direction, and it addresses the two issues we are looking at as we wait the delivery of our Woodworker. The small entry level CNC we now have is running Mach 3, and it is going to be a hard adjustment accepting the limitations of the ONEFinity controller. As to the monitor we have already purchased a new more ridged mounting bracket and imagine my pixel challenged eyes and progressive eyeglasses are not going to be happy with a 7 inch monitor.

So I was surprised to see the announcement email offering customization. I quickly opened the link but was disappointed to see that the offerings for controller, as the present on or nothing. Hopefully the team ONEFinity is working hard behind the seen to offer a real second option for a controller.

I am though, still confident in our decision that we have purchased the right machine, ONEFinity is unmatched in ridgity by the competition in the $2500.00 to $3000.00 class machine. Kudo’s to the ONEFinity design team!

One last question, hat’s the latest time frame for the 80mm spindle mount?

So, can I send my entire controller/display back for the $400 refund?

I presume not, and that’s simply the price one pays for being an early adopter. But this is great to hear that it’s an option for other people, and without knowing or using the BB system prior I would have had no clue when I ordered back in May 2020 either.

But thank you Onefinity for taking customer feedback into consideration, this is fantastic to see.

Be aware that it’s not that difficult to adapt a custom controller to the Onefinity. I ran a copy of this same controller on my X-carve. Liked it so much I opted to build another one for the new machine. Controller aside, the workhorse behind the controller is a Gecko G540, which could just as easily (actually, much more easily) had been adapted to work with Mach 3 or UCCNC.

*Yesterday we changed ordering on our website. We now give the option of buying with or without a controller and with or without a 7" or 10.8" touchscreen.
If you’ve already placed an order and want to change it, we ask that you send that inquiry to orders@onefinitycnc.com.
As you can guess, we’ve been inundated with emails, messages and phone calls. We’re a small staff and we’re a bit overwhelmed with the requests.
If you have any questions about this process, please post them in the comments below this post and we’ll try to answer them so everyone can learn from them. Also, if you’ve emailed in to orders@onefinitycnc.com you will get a response…but, like we stated in the email blast, it could be a few weeks before you receive one (but before your machine is scheduled to ship). We will take care of you, however, for this specific situation, it may not be as fast as normal.
If you’re trying to contact us about these changes, please only use orders@onefinitycnc.com. If you call, message or use our other emails (or even contact us with multiple emails to each address) it makes it harder and take longer to respond.

Here’s some answers to commonly asked questions:
Ordering without a controller or without a screen or any combination will NOT speed up your delivery. You will still be put in the same queue as normal.
2. Controller means the brains of the machine NOT to be confused with the optionally accessory, the joypad.
3. If you would like to upgrade to the larger touch screen, you can upgrade it by going to the link below. When you place your order for the larger touch screen, please make sure to include your original machine order number as a “Note to seller” so that we ensure that you receive your preferred touchscreen.

4. If you’re wanting to use a different screen than what we sell, the only requirements is that it has an hdmi input. please check out of forum for more info on community used screens: 7" Controller vs Larger Touch Screen Monitor
5. If you choose to purchase a machine without a controller, you will still get the full setup of motors and wires and rails. The only thing missing will be the controller itself.
6. If you choose to purchase a machine without the monitor, you will also not receive the hdmi and usb c cables that power the monitor and you will not receive the monitor mount.

If someone orders without the controller, are you still supplying the normal wiring harnesses, or will it not include those?

I think yes - see point #5.

I took the initiative to order on the site for an « Upgrade to 10.8 display (40.75$) » in the new spare parts section, but I stopped paying as it required an additional 25$ shipping cost when I checkout. I consider that this screen will not come separately but embedded with the complete and expected OF machine, just replacing the 7inch screen for which I already pay for shipping. Do you confirm that we should pay for extra shipping or its a bug in the process ?

Depends on the situation. Best to email orders@onefinitycnc.com and wait on a response.
