When I attempt to import a PDF using Vector>Import, only the text and graphics edits I have made to the file import. The images (line drawings and text) do not show. I have already created the model. Are there multiple layers to a PDF, and some way to combine these layers, or is there some file protection preventing the import?
I usually save the pdf as an image file (jpg) and then import it as an image.

Another trick for dealing with PDFs… Load the PDF into inkscape. You can then save the PDF as an SVG, JPG, PNG and about 20 other formats. Inkscape is a free download.
