Power down question with 1.2 firmware

I did the flash to 1.2 today, that process went well. Everything seems to run smoothly.

My only question is now when I power down by selecting the menu option to power down, usually after a few seconds the screen would go dark and I would flip the power switch off. Now, it looks like an error and the screen never goes dark and I power off with this screen.

normal. flip the power off when it hits that screen.
