Hey Merrick,
are you trying to home with stall homing method against gravity? This will not work. You got to reassign the axes in order to have home on the bottom. See here , here and here .
You could also get rid of unreliable stall homing by retrofitting proximity limit sensors .
The buildbotics-derived Onefinity Controller supports retrofitting inductive proximity sensors to get rid of unreliable stall homing . E.g. you can use Omron E2B but also others are available. The 25-pin I/O port has pins to connect them, preferrably over an optocoupler . The accuracy and homing repeatibility is excellent (see here and here ). What you still need is some means to attach them, preferrably made with a 3D printer, to be able to print these parts (see also here and here ).
Unlike photoelectric limit sensors like in the Elite Series, inductive proximity sensors are not affected by humidity and wood dust.
