QCW outside rail clamping suggestions needed

I am running a Gen 2 Foreman with the QCW. I routinely run plywood pieces that are 48" wide and have been struggling to find a clamping solution to use in the outside T track rails that is A) effective in its clamping ability and B) does not cause collisions when the machine is moving along the Y axis. The spacing is actually quite tight but it would be nice to have the option of grabbing workpieces from the side.

I had the same thought…how to effectively utilize the full machine’s width. I have the “Hill Jack Mfg” (?) low profile clamps that I use much of time (and love) but they won’t work in this situation because they would interfere with the Y rail slide, as do all of my other clamping tools.

We might be able to make special clamp blocks that would not extend beyond the t-track but I’m not sure even that could fully secure something as big as sheet the size of the machine table width. Drilling through the work piece might seem to be an answer but that might effectively be reducing the machine’s width…

It is a good question, and I hope others might show wisdom I obviously can’t see right now.

Depending on what cuts you plan to make, you can try a clamping caul to hold your side edges down.

Thank you for the responses. Seems I am not the only one looking for a solution.
