Just set up the machine, turned it on and homed it. After a successful homing, I tested out the controller, moving the cutting head around and noticed that the X gantry stopped 2 inches from the back and would not go any further. No grinding sounds or funny sounds of any sort, just wouldn’t go all the way to the back.

Welcome to the forums, Ken.
Check to ensure that you’re not moving in increments greater than the 2 inches, i.e. if you have it set to move at 5 inches, it definitely will not go another round. The controller knows all things.

I’ve had similar happen. Since the controller boots in Metric, I usually switch it to Imperial and re-home. It’s a problem I have only ever seen upon initial startup, and re-homing in Imperial has always fixed it for me.
