My redline controller is unresponsive. There is NO manual for it, and I’m trying to move the Z slider so I can finish mounting everything. It keeps saying Error Line 0: Homing Error and Error Line 0: Machine Not Ready. I’ve cleared any and all error codes. Nothing will home, and nothing will move.
You’ll need to home the machine first before it will do any movements.

When I say it’s unresponsive and NOTHING will move. That’s exactly what I mean. I’ve even manually put it in the home position. Nothing. I’m surprised this was sent out without a walk through video or a manual. I’m honestly already disappointed and I’ve had this less than 48hrs.
This was the early adopter special, meaning it’s the first of the kind, bleeding edge, to expect bugs and some things may not work right or as expected out of the box. This is why it was at such a deep deep discount.
Email support@onefinitycnc.com with a video from boot up to issue so they can help you.
If you unplug the machine can you manually move each axis?
Yes. I’ve moved everything (except the Z axis) to the home position, rebooted, and still nothing. Still gives me the error codes.
Already done. I would say, if they’ve tested the machine with the components that they shipped, it should work out of the box. I expect bugs and firmware updates, I don’t expect it to not work or move when I assemble it.

If you look at the top of the main screen you’ll see a line stating “MACHINE STATE” and yours is saying “SPINDLE ERROR”. I understand this is smaller on the display and it’s easy to miss (even though it’s red, and red usually means bad
). Perhaps Redline should make a pop up in the center of the screen and gray out the rest alerting users that the machine is in error state.
When the machine state has an error, nothing will happen until that is resolved.
So in your case, your controller thinks you have a spindle plugged in and is trying to talk to it, but it’s not getting a response, so for safety, it goes into “SPINDLE ERROR”.
My guess is:
-
you have redline spindle selected under spindle tab
-
You don’t have the redline vfd turned on so it can communicate with the controller and the controller can go into ‘ready’ state and start doing the commands you want it to do
To fix, simply turn on your vfd or check ‘none’ under the spindle tab.
I was going to post this fix after 1F emailed me last Saturday, extremely quickly btw.
