Thanks for the tip @KevTN that does look like the better way to go if you arent getting a spindle.
But my goal would be for it to be a gap filler, as you correctly pointed out, and then to be usable as a regular trim router once the spindle arrives to get some more use of it. Doesnt look like the router11 has a base so it really is purpose made.
This is the modification I made on my Dewalt. You also need a 69mm to 80mm converter (I have an extra from Etys you can have for the cost of shipping). Attached is a picture of the sanded router.
I see what you mean now by mod and it is to the Dewalt, nothing to the 1F which was my concern.
Mighty kind offer on the @RJensen , I have a 3D printer already so if this ends up being my temporary setup I will literally start a print and let it run while I go buy the router. The modeling for a sleeve like that is trivial.
Good to know though that the dewalt is 69mm, not 65 like the makita. I would have found that out the slow way otherwise.
I went with a dust collection system from Cavalier Designs. It comes with a 69-80mm conversion ring, and for $45, you can convert it to fit the 80mm spindle. It’s not the cheapest option, but you don’t have to buy two dust collection systems. Of course, if you’re a 3D printer, you are probably making these yourself!
If you are going to print your on I’d take a look at the ring. If you offset the circle I believe you could get away with no router modification. Might take a couple of tries but it would be worth the plastic
More great ideas. Simple and effective. This is why it’s good to talk it out with other people. And since I know absolutely nobody IRL who understands me when I say these things, I have you guys!
I will upload anything I may create to give back to the community.
You have to email them to get any type of information. I emailed yesterday and they said the 52*** orders are now pushed to end of March. Last update I got before that was more spindles were expected to ship end of January. I ordered on Cyber Monday in November
I posted 17 days ago about an email from Onefinity when to expect shipments. I am 524XX. I appreciate your update. Trying to stay positive but beginning to get frustrated.
Parts in a box. Another company putting them in the box. All that has to be done is fill the orders. What frustrates me is that you would need to email them. On the website it plainly states any status on an order will be referred to Shipping Info page. Not to mention our free no interest loan of $1000+ for each of us waiting for these spindles. Like I’ve stated before I can somewhat understand a complete CNC but parts? Please.
Hey guys,
We have had some delays with Redline getting in more batches.
We are currently completing order numbers 51xxx (having fulfilled over 300 spindle orders to date) and should fulfill them by the end of this month. We expect to fulfill orders 52xxx by the end March, Orders 53xxx are anticipated to ship by the end of April, with 54xxx+ following closely behind.
In the meantime, if you ordered a machine with an 80mm mount, you may find it helpful to use a shim from Rowdy Roman to reduce the mount size to 65mm (3d print file here), allowing you to use a Makita router until your spindle arrives.
