Ridges on bottom of groove using a bowl bit

I just made my first groove 2 in wide , 3/4 deep with a bowl bit. The bit left some ridges on the bottom, not real bad but still can feel them . any solutions for this? thanks

Decrease your step over (this will make the carve longer but require less sanding.)

May I also suggest roughing it out, then taking a finishing pass. Try a finishing pass of say 0.05".

That way any wood movement gets carved away.

Make sure your spindle is trammed to near perfect.
