What do you use for a dust boot when rotary machining say chess pieces?

I finally got around to setting up my rotary, a few days ago. I haven’t really figured out the dust collection part.
For now, I’m just propping up a fume hood (honestly, I’m not totally sure what it is or why I have it) connected to a 4" hose. It doesn’t suck up everything, but since the dust tends to shoot off in one direction, it does an ok job of keeping it relatively contained.
