Shapeoko Sweepy Dust Boot

Has anyone tried using the Carbide 3D Shapeoko Sweepy Dust Boot on a Makita router in a 1F Journeyman Pro or similar? Curious

Thanks, I’m reading people are not to happy with the standard dust boot for the 1F. People seam to like the Sweepy.

I use the Sweepy 2.0. Yes you do have to shave the backend a bit but once done, it works great. I also have the suck it and I do actually prefer that over the sweepy. I only got the sweepy due to consistently breaking the bottom “shoe.”

Hey Scott,

there are a few dust boots that some people like better than Onefinity’s stock dust boots (the Onefinity Suckit Dust Boot

Hi - could you post a picture of how you made the sweepy work? I have one here and it looks like I need to take a ton of material off and not sure how to plug the gaps now…

I’m using the sweepy on a Makita router. All I did was sand a little tiny bit of the rear of the mount so it would not hit the base of the Z axis spindle mount. I don’t think a picture will do you any good since what I did is not really visible. It simply worked for me. In hindsight though, after using the sweepy on a ton of projects I’m not that happy with it. The cam lock feature is of poor design and comes loose. Its also difficult to open on occasion.
