Show us your vertical clamping methods!

@RockingMallet - Can you share the file? I would be happy to provide feedback on my experience. Shameless gobbling for file

@bexars sent. like i said the file is a bit of a mess as i had errors pop up i couldn’t fix and it wouldn’t let me export the file so i had to copy the model into a new file which as expected broke a few things in the timeline i just haven’t had time to fix yet. good luck. the fixes should be pretty straight forward if you know fusion.

I would love a copy of that file as well. I am working in F360 and was just about to start working on a new version of this for my setup. I will be adding a hinge to this so I can still fold up my machine against the wall vertically.

@RockingMallet I love how you used the first part of it to cut the sides. well done

I would like a copy also! I just upgraded to the journeyman and would love to implement a vertical work holding option in my bench.

@RockingMallet This looks great and is exactly what I was looking for. Could I get your Fusion file as well just to get the dimensions you used? I’m good with whatever state it’s in. Thanks!

Realize there are some old posts here. Was wondering if Joe Morelli and I are the last two users of JointCam?

Just checked its forum still exists! Would encourage all new woodworking cnc’ers to consider vertical holding. It’s a game changer. I have a very simple square clamping box hidden under the waste board. Others have great ideas, and clamping methods.

I’m really hoping Gerry at Jointcam revamps the software for more great stuff (and more user friendly). I’ve managed to make some creative joints but now that I’ve learned to use layers in vetric I should rewrite the file, even I get confused!

Hey did you ever get this cleaned up? I have an Elite foreman coming and want to set up a vertical spot and this looks so good.

sent you a link to the latest one i have.

I bought jointcam when i first got my machine. I have since sold that machine(x50JM) and have a new elite coming, I still have not used jointcam but I do plan on it. did they go out of business?

No, I’m still very much in business. Feel free to email me if you ever have any questions.

I logged onto the JointCam forum, and asked if they were still in business……answer: “Yes, absolutely!”

I use the Jointcam program for dovetails, and mortise joints. However, I did take the time to create some “fun” joints using V Carve Pro.
Arrowhead, bird’s eye, teddy bear, etc.

Teddy Bear sounds interesting, do you have any pictures or screen shots?

Teddy bear joint was drafted out to make a box for my granddaughter.

I should update the file, and have recently updated to version 12 of VCarve Pro.

I could eventually post the file if interested.

Yeah I heard Teddy bear and figured it might be nice for a nieces birthday I have coming up.
