Spoil board thickness and rabbets for QCW

I’ve seen some users who have T-tracks add some rabbets to their MDF spoil boards to go over the edges of the T-tracks. The goal is to prevent the tracks edges from bending up when a lot of force is applied to the clamps.

Is that also needed/recommended for the QCW?

Also, what board thickness would you recommend?

Typically MDF is readily available in 3/4" x 49" x 97" sheets. I just googled t-track and got the picture I’m about to paste for my first attempt. To cap that track with 3/8" of MDF would definitely add stability to your setup.
