Newbie here. homed machine on startup. zeroed material monitor said put away probe and press continue when spindle is up to speed . i pressed play and the machine took off way to the right of the material and started the carve. huh? why would it probe successfully and then start someplace else?
Probing is so that it can find the 0,0,0 location for reference. Once it had that it now knows how to position the cut. Where it starts after the probe doesn’t matter at all.
You may need to look closer at your software, and your set position, or potential offset that is programmed in.
Homing the machine, and probing, tells the machine where it is - but you have free range to actually start anywhere on the wasteboard, which is determined by the software and ultimately your gcode.
You need to understand your settings, and the code you are running. What software are you using, and is the file, one you created?
