FWIW I had this issue this morning. After doing a garage renovation and having the machine unplugged for a couple weeks, the X axis would move about an inch and fault.
I believe this is the machines way of trying to move the machine off of the sensor because it believes it’s already home. The fix was to clean the sensor unplugged re-plug and repower machine on
