Tips for switching between laser and CNC

A couple of things that have come in handy for me with using the Jtech on the Onefinity:

  1. Air Assist Disconnect: I disconnect my laser and take it out of the enclosure when not in use. Rather than unscrew the air assist from the laser each time, I added a quick connect check valve to easily leave part of the hose on the laser and the other part in the enclosure tucked away.

  1. I often do projects that laser first, then cut with the CNC. When I want to ensure that everything is aligned perfectly, I laser a 1/2”x1/2” square onto a section that will end up as scrap. I then run my cnc on that square first. If it’s off on the X or Y, then I measure with calipers, adjust the zero position accordingly, then run my piece.
