Toolpath software

I have a journeyman with buidbotic controller, how can i see the toolpath as the machine is cutting, like a different software. I would like to see my design on the screen while its cutting.

If you can log into your machine on a computer via a web browser, the web interface has a representation of your tool path as it cuts. There is an option in the browser window to make this animation bigger. There is no way to see this in the window that the controller generates for the display that’s plugged into it.

Hey Craig,

you will see this 3D toolpath simulation if you use the Onefinity Controller User Interface from a web browser of your choice from a remote computer that you connect via Ethernet or WiFi.

Remote computers usually have a more capable graphics card with 3D-accelerated drivers installed, which is not the case with the Raspberry Pi 3B inside the Onefinity Controller. The built-in 3D toolpath simulation is a very nice feature of the Onefinity/Buildbotics Controllers (note: the author of the buildbotics.com cnc system is also the author of camotics.org toolpath simulation software).

So I would have to connect my onefinity to the internet? I’m not to computer savvy.

Hey Craig.

No. Just to a computer that you own. E.g. with an Ethernet cable. Follow the link I gave you above

How do you get this large view. Mine is only a business card size.

Hey Billy,

with the “Toggle path view size” button

You may also want to know that zooming in and out goes with mouse wheel or trackball ring (if a USB mouse or trackball is connected).
