Limit switches are nice, however I don’t have any issue with the accuracy and repeatability of stall homing for woodworking purposes. I’d rather retrofit inductive sensors than IR anyway.

On the 25-pin I/O port , you can easily connect your retrofit inductive proximity sensors as limit switches to circumvent the insufficient accuracy and homing repeatability of stall homing.

I don’t use a breakout board, as it may exert too much lever force on the 25-pin connector on the pcb (and is usually at a non-convenient location), but a 1:1 25-pin modem cable as extension cord, that leads to an aluminium case (as a kind of custom breakout board adapter) into which I mount the 8 mm cylindrical sensor sockets. Sensors can be Omron E2B.

Similarly, being able to resume projects after an error or power outage is nice, however this happens so rarely that I couldn’t justify the cost with this feature alone.

And should it become necessary, the values are still there after power outage, they remain available in the log file. A script could list all occurrences of changing an offset from the log file, so that you can reconstruct where you were in the g-code file.

what is unbeatable with the buildbotics-derived Onefinity Controller on Original/X-50/PRO Series, is the excellent performance/price ratio.

But it must be said what Onefinity offers as Elite Series is also a very good deal compared to buying a Masso G3 at the Masso Shop and having to provide all the accessories separately that Onefinity offers already included.
