URGENT: Middle of cut error

I had a carve that was going great then I got some electrical error reading the USB stick. I took it out and put it back in then I reloaded the carve. I feel like I made a mistake by doing this as it was at the end of the project and it was going to start over.

I went back and grabbed just the final part of the project. Created a new tool path, same depth, same bit, didn’t change coordinates on the machine and it went right to where it needed to go but started carving deeper for some reason. I quickly hit the emergency stop. And now I’m asking for help.

Is there a way to go back and find out where the previous project left off? I’m so confused as to why it was carving deeper. NOTHING changed…

I was 90% done with this long project and now I feel like it has been ruined.

Any help/advise would be great.

I have had that happen. It came down to where the memory stick was not all the way in, and during rapid movements it would ‘jerk’ the machine and the USB came loose. The nice thing about the Elite is that it remembers what line you were. I always start 10 lines prior.

Yea I wish I would have had the common sense to do that. Instead I loaded the job again and it screwed it all up. I had to take off everything and start over, and then I kept getting blown fuses and then my router took a dump. I’ve never been more defeated by a project.

We have all been there. You will get there. I will be around on Thursday if you need to know how to start from a certain line.
