I tried to home my woodworker one Infiniti and my x rails are not working. What can I do? Do I still have warranty? And if I do how can I get the part that I need?
There could be a number of causes. To start, when you say X rails (2?) do you mean the one (1) X rail, or did you mean the two (2) Y rails? (The X rail carries the Z axis) I do not have the 1F controller or cabling, so I am sure others can offer some troubleshooting suggestions. Did you contact Onefinity support yet? They are very responsive and helpful.
No I will contact them today and it’s the x-rail that carries the z axis I think it’s the motor that went out. I have to check today but it will move. My spindle is stuck right in the middle
It’s pretty rare for a stepper motor to go bad. Most likely you have a cable or cable connector issue.
I tried the cables and they’re perfectly fine. I am going to try doing something else but I did order another mortar just in case
Thank you, I will try that.
With power to your controller on, can you turn the X axis ball screw by hand to move the Z axis assembly? If the motor is getting power you should not be able to turn it by hand. You can also try connecting the X axis motor cable into a different axis port on the controller - perhaps Z - then jog Z and see if X axis motor turns (motor amperage would be the same if you have a X35 Woodworker).
I already tried that and yes you you can move the z axle by hand.
If someone could video chat me I would truly appreciate it. See what’s going on with my machine at this point in time. I don’t know what’s going on cuz I tried everything to get this to work
Did you try all 8 the steps in the FAQ that Onefinity provided earlier?
Is this a different - probing - issue now? Did you solve the X axis motor problem?
The mortars actually working but the spindle won’t move
side to side?
Yes I have I removed the motor and the motor’s working. I think it might be that it’s not gripping and it’s not moving it. So I am going to try to get some hex keys today and try that. If not I don’t know what to do
It seems it could be a loose coupler then. You will need the hex key to remove the motor, and a smaller hex key to tighten the coupler screws.
I did everything. I cleaned up everything I took it apart. I reassembled it. It’s still not homing right? And it’s still getting stuck
I am sorry to hear that, especially as I imagine you were expecting your efforts to be rewarded with a successful outcome. From experience here on the forum, I know 1F support will now work with you until the issue is found and resolved.
