Xyz probe issue after upgrading to v1.3.0

Some obvious thoughts, but if you have being using your 1F for 2yrs ii guess you have covered.

So off top of head…

  1. Are you Probing with a straight bit, better still a rod of known diameter?

  2. Try probing work piece atleast 3 inches in from any worksurface boundary.

  3. Check for crap or dings on inside of probe block.

  4. Check dimension for probe in the settings are correct.

  5. Check for correct mm/step for your machine.

  6. Is it homing ok?

  1. This is all good.
  2. Why 3 inches? Surely I could set my work piece at 0, its not where did the 3" come from?

  4. Checked and re-measured the block
  5. Not checked this yet, I will look when I am back in front of the machine. Although I have not change this.
  6. Homing is OK

“3 inches”. Somewhere away from 0 in order to be sure to be away cutting area limits. Anything other near the edge in both x and y.

Any one still having this issue? I just had it several times today on 1.30.1.

Why not upgrade to the latest?

Actually, I typed it incorrectly. I’m on 1.3.1 and getting this error message. It occurs occasionally, not every time. No pattern to it or sequence of events that I can recognize. Most of the time when it happens I can cancel and start over and it works (a little frustrating, but works). But there are times when I get the error, cancel, and it occurs again and won’t ever resolve. I have to restart the controller at that point.

I think I can confidently say that it has not occurred when only setting the Z axis. Just when probing XYZ.
