Y Axis Failing to Probe on Rotary

Hello,

I’m hoping someone can help me with a new issue. I was having a problem where my Y gantry were not moving equally so I cleaned the ball screw housing (following the video from Onefinity very carefully!) and that fixed the movement issue. Now all axis move freely without issue. However, since that issue, I have attempted to probe XYZ on my Revolution and it probes Z and X with no problem but when it moves back to probe Y it just stops. Then, after about 5 seconds or so, it triggers an E-stop and gives me a warning that the probe block failed to detect the bit. To be clear, the gantry never traveled in the Y direction after moving back to probe the Y so the bit was not in contact with the block. Basically, bit goes down to probe Z, no problem. Moves to my right and descends and probes X no problem. Router moves back to probe Y and then….just stops. It’s like it thinks it’s moving and then doesn’t detect the bit within a certain imagined motion of travel so it triggers the E-stop. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks!

Jess

Check your settings per the Revolution manual, it’s possible to not have the configuration settings right (Ask me how I know)

Thanks Ken! I did check my settings and they are correct (according to the manual). I’ve had successful cuts before. Did you run into this exact issue with failing to probe the Y? Thanks again!

Mine stemmed from the reverse, I was trying to use my xyz probe block and forgot to change the settings from Revolution back to normal use

Btw you are not using a v bit right?

Hey Ken, you fixed it! So, not sure how this happened but at some point the amps re-set on my motor from the 1.3 I’d set it to back to the default 1. I appreciate you bringing it back to my mind; that fixed it!
